BEEDEEP BRINGS CHILDREN INTO A NEW WONDERFUL WORLD OF READING, UNDERSTANDING, PARTICIPATING AND BEING CREATIVE.

Too often – in education – reading becomes the unpleasant task of sounding out words that have no meaning or scanning through boring text, looking for what will be on the “test” and memorizing it.

Wow! No wonder kids have trouble reading. No wonder it’s hard to get them to read. It’s boring, tedious and really has become a purposeless exercise of how to sound good (without regard to understanding).

IF YOU REGURGITATE FROM MEMORIZATION, YOU UNDERSTAND?

In Beedeep’s world, reading is interesting and INTERACTIVE. It is discovering what the words mean.

The origin of Beedeep’s World came from an experience watching a kid try to read. He was reading a book that he interacts with...in other words, he draws what he just read, and if he can’t draw what he just read, he didn’t understand it, and that is what happened with him.

I helped him find the word he didn’t understand and he was able to draw what he just read and was good as gold after that.

That experience led me to create Beedeep’s World!

This SHOULD be the FIRST lesson a child learning to read, should understand.

We need children who know what things mean, to UNDERSTAND, and know how to USE their own words to communicate and be communicated to.

Beedeep’s World are books for children, written by author and artist Victoria Falslev.

They were written after an extensive study of how one understands and learns.
